Diana Dors is one lovely lady that hails from the land of England. She is sometimes referred to as the English Marilyn Monroe. She followed the path of other UK pinups such as Sabrina and Pamela Green. It was Hollywood for her! She had the hot blond bombshell look coupled with one hell of a sexy attitude. She started appearing in movies in 1948, and kept on working until 1979. While she never technically appeared in any pornographic films, Diana Dors was well aware of her sex appeal and called upon it often during her acting career.

To get a sense of the personality of this pinup beauty, you need look no farther than this quote from the Associated British Path: "I resented being molded as the female Errol Flynn, but it was the way to become a household word. I always wanted to be a glamorous Hollywood star with a cream telephone. It couldn't be done with the films I was offered--so it had to be done with glamour, extravagance, tiger-skin rugs, mink bikinis, and sex appeal, I was the first homegrown sex symbol...rather like Britain's naughty seaside postcards."

Diana's real name was the cause of some consernation: Diana Fluck. One interesting bit of trivia regarding this interesting last name comes from her wikipedia entry:
"According to Dors autobiography, she was once asked and readily agreed to open a fete in her home town of Swindon, England. Prior to the festivities, Dors lunched with the local Vicar, during which she informed him that her real name was Diana Fluck.

The Vicar became somewhat worried about his planned speech. After lunch, they arrived at the fete at the appointed time. The Vicar, totally unnerved about mispronouncing "Fluck", introduced Diana with these immortal words:

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our star guest. We all love her, especially as she is our local girl. I therefore feel it right to introduce her by her real name; Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the very lovely Miss Diana Clunt."
- She just can't win, can she?

Diana passed away on May 4th, 1984 to ovarian cancer. However, she left a mark on pop culture that will be remembered even today.
